Titan Missile Museum Review by greatparks

Review

A must-visit for military, history, or technology buffs. Fascinating and frightening, the Titan Missile Museum provides a unique glimpse into the Cold War.

There are three separate tours, only one of which operates every day. This basic tour begins on the hour and lasts about 90 minutes. The tour guide provides an overview of how the site functioned during the Cold War, how the site was constructed (and why), and the procedure that the staff here would have used (but thankfully never did) to launch their hydrogen-bomb-laden missile.

This is the only Titan II missile silo that you can tour, so this is truly a unique site. Fans of history, military technology, and/or engineering should pair this visit with a trip to the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson, which is similarly fascinating.

Things I Would Change

I wish the tour were even longer. (They do offer longer, more in-depth tours, but those must be reserved ahead of time.)

Cool Things Nearby

The Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson goes hand in hand with this site.
