The Best Parks for Engagement Photos (and Proposals) in the Tampa Bay Area

This guest post comes from award-winning photographer Stephanie A. Smith!

February 14. Valentine’s Day. A day where most people celebrate love and happiness with their significant sweetie. Some give flowers, others give chocolates. But nothing really says “ I love you” better then a diamond ring.  In fact, Valentine's Day is one of the most popular nights for couples to get engaged.

And once she says, “I do,” it's on to the next big step, the wedding day. With planning your big day comes engagement photos. But let’s face it. You just planned your proposal - how are you also supposed to know where to go for your engagement photos? Well fear no more. Natural light, partnered with an adorable couple, always makes for amazing images. Here are some of my favorite parks to photograph.

This is a true nature lovers' paradise. Couples can enjoy the gulf beaches, tidal flats and shorelines that still have a few remaining virgin slash pine forests in South Florida.

You can’t miss this park, as it's nestled right in the heart of downtown Tampa. An urban oasis to all who live nearby. Sloping lawns, fountains features, modern architecture, and more with the Hillsborough River and University of Tampa as your backdrop.

I recently discovered this park and fell head over heels with its location and all it had to offer from a photography stand point. Nature trails, cypress swamps, lily ponds and more -- all overlooking Lake Tarpon. This is a must see.
